Data Governance<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is dedicated to recognizing data as a vital asset and is committed to establishing a comprehensive data governance program across the agency through effective policies, processes, and best practices. The MDE prioritizes the privacy, security, and accuracy of data while also facilitating its use to enhance student outcomes.<\/p>\n

The MDE has implemented its data governance program through the establishment of this\u00a0Data Governance Charter<\/u><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Data Governance Committee<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The Data Governance Committee (DGC) includes representatives from program offices across the agency. Together, the DGC members focus on gaining insight from its data collections, supporting school districts with maintaining accurate information, making data-driven decisions that align with the\u00a0MS Board of Education Strategic Plan<\/u><\/a>, overseeing state and federal reporting requirements, and ensuring the privacy and security of our student and personnel data.<\/p>\n
