The purpose of the Counselor Growth Rubric is to provide the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Enhance the impact that the professional school counselor and the school counseling program have on the students and other stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Highlight the school counselor\u2019s areas of strength and identify areas of growth<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a guide for counselors as they reflect on their own practices<\/li>\n<li>Provide shared understanding regarding priorities, goals, and expectations of quality practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following documents are provided for use with the Mississippi Professional Growth System for School Counselors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/OEE\/counselor\/school_counselor_growth_rubric_guidebook.pdf\">School Counselor Growth Rubric Guidebook<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/OEE\/counselor\/school_counselor_informal_and_formal_observation_form.pdf\">School Counselor Informal and Formal Observation Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/OEE\/counselor\/school_counselor_summative_observation_form_87_new.pdf\">School Counselor Summative Observation Form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/sites\/default\/files\/Offices\/MDE\/OA\/OTL\/Teacher%20Center\/counselor_growth_cycle.pdf\">Counselor Growth Cycle<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Counselor Growth Rubric Requirements:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum of three (3) observation and feedback cycles during the school year is required (two (2) informal, one (1) formal)<\/li>\n<li>High-quality feedback after each observation<\/li>\n<li>Counselors must be observed\u00a0using the Counselor Growth Rubric<\/li>\n<li>Professional Growth\u00a0scores are due not later than June 30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Counselor Growth Rubric The Counselor of each school provides leadership to the school through quality professional development and technical assistance to support implementation of a comprehensive counseling program based on the American School Counselor\u2019s Framework for School Counselors.
