The purpose of Parent and Family Engagement under Title I, Part A is to provide support to schools, family, and the community in the development of partnerships and building relationships.\u00a0 Parent and Family Engagement focuses on increasing active participation, communication, and collaboration between all stakeholders, reaching beyond barriers of culture, language, disabilities, and poverty to improve education and other important outcomes for children, youth and adults.<\/p>\n
In addition to participating in their child’s education, Title I envisions parent participation in each of the three levels of decision making: state, district, and school.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n Templates<\/p>\n Schools and parents may use the\u00a0Parent-Student-Teacher Compact\u00a0template<\/a> or the\u00a0School-Parent-Traditional Compact<\/a>\u00a0template<\/a> as a framework for the information to be included in their School-Parent Compact.<\/p>\n Districts may use the\u00a0Parent and Family Engagement Best Practices Rubric and Assessment<\/a>\u00a0to evaluate the effectiveness of the activities implemented at the school level.<\/p>\n\n
