{"id":1578,"date":"2018-02-23T19:45:54","date_gmt":"2018-02-23T19:45:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wptest.mdek12.org\/testsite2\/evidenced-based-programs\/"},"modified":"2024-10-24T15:25:39","modified_gmt":"2024-10-24T15:25:39","slug":"evidenced-based-programs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/wpdev01.mdek12.org\/schoolimprovement\/evidenced-based-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"Evidence-Based Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Mississippi Department of Education supports school district efforts to invest in proven strategies that have an evidence-base for effectiveness toward improving outcomes for children in our schools.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The factors that undergird the Mississippi Department of Education&#8217;s position include, but are not limited to these expectations and requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>State law requires that we categorize all programs and activities based on evidence of effectiveness (MS Code 27-103-159).<\/li>\n<li>Federal law requires that we select and implement evidence-based programs when using federal funds (Every Student Succeeds Act).<\/li>\n<li>MDE State Board of Education established the expectation that we are to create a world-class educational system that gives students the knowledge and skills to be successful in college and the workforce.
